I am not sure about the details of this apparent controversy, but it sounds like a good policy to inform and educate potential investors to the facts concerning their exposure with such investments before it is revealed that they have been misinformed and the premise of same was not what was originally anticipated. This would be a plan for inevitable failure, not unlike the recent Indy-Mac Bank fiasco.

To say this policy would be abuse of legislative power would compare to the recent actions of N.Y. Senior Senator Charles Schumer, who spilled the beans on the aforementioned troubled bank by leaking privately held, insider information, causing a run on the same, and imminent failure to be subsidized by the American Taxpayers. How could this not be abusing his position?

My best analogy and application of time-honored wisdom relative to the freedom of such pertinent, advanced, investor information would be..."An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure."

(fatwhiteboy_1)

[This is where Congress comes in. Since President Clinton refused to allow drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge in 1995, Democrats have stood in the way of any rational energy plan. Today, we pump just 25% of our oil; 40 years ago, it was 60%. We send about $900 billion a year overseas to buy oil, money that helps fund Russian and radical Islamic mischief. This is a problem.]

I wonder if any of the 435 geniuses in the 110th U.S. Congress have considered the fact the above deficit for the purchase of foreign O-I-L we pay to the O.P.E.C. thugs represents 30% of the total U.S. GDP?

Don't get me started...these "politicians" epitomize the "vacuous-cavern-between-the-ears" syndrome; or as we say in the business..."ate up with the dumb-ass".

It is painfully obvious, Congress is replete with "kool-aid-drinkers" who not only cannot think for themselves, they lack the capacity for rational thought. This is why they are "politicians". None of the idiotic theories & schemes proposed by them would or could succeed in the real world.

One incontrovertible, salient fact is that the crowd of elitist, "Gore-ish" environmentalist, extremists have no sense of reality when it comes down to performance of their constitutional responsibilities. They are more concerned with pandering and appeasing to preserve their pensions and nothing at all in the sense of accurately discerning the truth, responsibly representing their constituency, or the collective interests of same.

"Many people would sooner die than think; In fact, they do so."
Our so called leaders have failed us for decades on the energy issue. Having the greatest military power in the world is not the power now. Oil is, and Russia and the Middle East have the world at their beck and call. If we had AMERICA FIRST politicians this would of never of happened in the first place.

Also think of all the money that would of stayed in our economy instead of in the hands of the hate preaching Saudis and think of all the jobs that drilling and alternative energy sources will create. It is a win win situation for us.

"sportyk" wrote: "AmericasFuture" (Hah! That's rich.) is a tool of the Islamists.
He hears no evil, sees no evil. Thankfully he will be among the first ones to submit to them.

This is a great way of identifying strategies and methods of political "jihad" and the whole creed of Islam.

Thanks for expressing in very few words the very concepts for which all Americans need to be concerned and consider as a very serious and dangerous state of mind. Islamic jihad (defined as "my struggle") is not just about the struggle for political superiority, but a struggle for total dominance and power over the world's governments, finances, religions, and civilizations. Islam is not a "religion" but a hierarchy, a theocracy of sorts, i.e. a "cult" by which a false sense of virtue is preached to the "kafir" (non-believer) and intended guilt is thereby assocated with anyone who argues that Islam's ultimate purpose is to subvert and enslave those who don't submit to the powers delegated to Muslim Mullahs and Imams enforced and regulated by the fallacious constitutional laws and customs of "Shariah".

One of the common misunderstood concepts is that Muslims may be moderate or friendly to non-Muslims, therefore it is only the radicals who cause most of the problems and commit acts of violence and terrorism. To clarify my point, compare the size of the U.S. military, and more specifically its fighting forces currently deployed in the Middle East, to the total population of the U.S. Out of some 300 million total population, there are approximately 200,000 enlisted in service in theatre in the Middle East. This percentage is roughly 0.067% or less than 7/100ths of 1 percent of America's total population, of which also makes up the single most powerful fighting force in the region.

To further illustrate my point of why we should be concerned about a small percentage of Muslims who commit jihad against the world...the other 99.9933% of America's population are doing what normal people do everyday, e.g. working, going to school, shopping, watching TV, playing football, fishing, golfing, etc. Does the fact that only 7/100ths of 1% (0.000067)
of our nation's population, if considered to be "radicals", mean we would not pose a serious threat to another country's security or cause them not to be concerned if we were committed to destroying their infrastructures and wreaking havoc on their government and educational systems, financial institutions, and way of life, if this was our whole reason for living and deeply held conviction? Does this also indicate there are 299,800,000 moderate / good Americans and only the rest are barbaric, violent, radical extremists? How many of these radical, Muslim "jihadists" did it take to destroy America's World Trade Center towers and murder 3,000 innocent citizens in one day? You decide.

The problem I have with characterizations made in the above article and following comments is the fact we are overlooking the salient fact that Muslims do not abide by or embrace the same basic concepts upon which our nation's Constitution, our moral codes of ethics, and our life's philosophies are derived, i.e. the "Golden Rule", the Rule of Law, the 10 Commandments, and the Word of God. Muslims do not even acknowledge these sources as being credible or relevant. This puts a whole different light on whether or not we properly understand this enemy of Western culture and its imminent threat to democracy and freedom, under which we live. According to Islam, we are not considered part of humanity. Their classifications only include believers and "Kafir" (non-believers), the latter of which is not included as part of the whole of civilized classes of the world's population.

All professing Muslims who identify with Islam, whether good natured, hard-working, gentle, personable, friendly or not, abide by the same basic edicts and live under the same "Sharia" law, therefore in the case of controversy or conflict of any kind, they will always come down on the side of their basic beliefs, i.e. the Koran, Sira, Hadith, the prophet Mohammed, etc. To treat any non-believer or "kafir" as a friend or create serious, meaningful relationships with the "infidels" is considered apostate and traitorous behavior to a Muslim...worthy of eternal condemnation and punishable by death. Muslims are only allowed and motivated to co-exist with infidels on a temporary basis for advancing their ultimate agenda of dominance and submission of all others to their laws. Within this framework and tactical mode of operation, the constitutional guidelines of Muslim ethics promotes deceit, duality, mendacity, and fraud as a tool to accomplish their goals. It is totally acceptable and ethical for a Muslim to deceive the infidel and subvert any system of laws not their own (Shariah).

The fact we don't believe any "religious" people could behave in the above manner does not make our perception of the "moderate Muslim" any more accurate or even remotely possible. The fact we deny the true nature of Islam, characterizing it as your basic "religion of peace", does not make this statement true either. The fact of the matter is, we do not understand and cannot grasp the danger and threat of Islamofascism to our civilized world because we basically don't understand it nor do we believe anyone else could be capable of believing anything but what we believe. This is a disadvantage and our biggest vulnerability. If we continue to ignore these facts, we will eventually wind up being servants or slaves to these people, one way or another...or worse. To them, there is no other option, and they outnumber us by a factor of over 4-to-1 now. Considering the difference of birthrates, with polygamy, the practice of which is allowed in Islam, their population will grow to the point of dwarfing ours in a only a few decades.

The above gives me cause for a good deal of concern. How many terrorists were required to destroy the WTC on 9/11-2001? 19? Hmmm. What percentage of the group were Christians, Jews, atheists, agnostics, or other? Hmmm.
It is unfathomable to me people could be so gullible as to allow these basic, inalienable rights to be bartered in such fruitless, quid pro quo exchanges, especially when the party of which is on the receiving end has absolutely no respect for, nor embraces the values of such treasured, basic freedoms. What kind of an imbecile would give up the right to criticize the wrongdoings of barbarians? This would be like making it illegal to express feelings of pain from a boulder falling on one’s head. I’m convinced, we are surrounded with people who don’t know they don’t know what’s happening.

Thx…I signed this one. The tally was 67% in favor of keeping “In God We Trust” on our currency at the time I voted.

I was pretty shocked that there were so many who do not support this. No doubt, others may believe, foolishly, that it is an infringement on individual rights in conflict with the 1st Amendment to the Constitution. This is foolish and just shows the blatant ignorance among people.

Disconcerting to me is the salient fact that more people make negative comments relative to this subject on the “blogosphere” than those in support of God’s influence in our country being of paramount importance to our nation’s future. We could, and should change this trend.

I am not the least bit intimidated and believe it is my duty and responsibility to assert the truth of God’s Word in defense of Christianity and my faith as an American vis-a-vis these atheists and plastic, appeasement apostles who place political correctness above allegiance to God & Country. Just think of the significance of this concept!

If you want to hear something truly inspiring on this, I would strongly recommend watching the video of Pastor Don Wilton of FBC-Spartanburg, S.C.
